Musqueam FNLMA (First Nations Land Management Act) Lands Committee

 

The FNLMA Lands Committee consists of eight members, three appointed council members, three band members at large, one youth, and one elder. The following are those that have been selected for the committee:

Comprehensive Sustainable Community Plan

Musqueam Administration, along with Chief and Council, has retained services of ECOPlan International (EPI) to work with Musqueam in developing a Comprehensive Sustainable Community Plan.

EPI will be meeting with Musqueam administration, elders, various committees, community members, and youth to develop a plan for Musqueam's future.

The final document will include plans for such items as:

  • Health, social and culture;
  • Land use;
  • Environmental sustainablility;
  • Energy, infrastructure and housing;
  • Economic development;
  • Governance;
  • And other community issues.

Periodic updates and progress reports will be posted to this site.

Community Planning Update

Our Community Plan has taken many imporant steps forward. We completed our Community Surveys and heard from almost 50% of our on-reserve members. We have completed a DRAFT of our Land Use Plan, held two rounds of family gatherings, accepted our Community Profile as a working document along with much more. The site contains information on past, ongoing and upcoming community planning activities including the Comprehensive Sustainable Community Development Plan, the sports facility work and the 2010 Legacies Fund project.
