The Musqueam Education Department is a team of dedicated individuals who strive to improve services for all community members. We believe we can make a positive difference in the lives of our students. Wherever possible we will integrate Musqueam culture into our programs. We are committed to supporting, teaching and caring for a diverse group of children who, in turn, will learn, reflect and care for themselves and others as they prepare for their futures. As a department, we are responsible for many important roles, including:

ADMINISTER ELEMENTARY AND POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION
• School placement
• Tuition
• Liaise between elementary, secondary and post-secondary institutions
• Liaise between Vancouver School Board, First Nations Education Steering Committee and other organizations

ADMINISTRATION
• Meet and advise students
• Cheque processing
• Daily administrative activities

FIRST NATIONS SUPPORT WORKER
• Provides academic and emotional support to Musqueam students and parents
• Acts as a liaison between school and parents

CHILDREN’S HOUSE
• Infant Toddler program, 12 months to 3 years old
• 3 year old and 4 year old program
• Speech and Language
• Musqueam language and culture is incorporated into our daily schedule

HOMEWORK CLUB
• Provide tutors for elementary and high school
• Work with UBC – tutors for Homework Club
