St. George’s School invites expressions of interest from emerging, mid-career and established Musqueam artists and artist teams to create and install a public artwork for the first phase of the St. George’s Senior School redevelopment on West 29th Avenue in Vancouver.
Situated within the corner entry plaza of the new school, the public artwork will enliven the space, foster social connectivity, and provide meaningful opportunities for teaching and learning. The project provides an opportunity for a Musqueam artist or artist team to share stories about the land and the ancestral people who inhabited it, working to increase the visibility of Indigenous cultural presence.
The artist selection process is a two-stage open call. Only artists who are shortlisted for the public art opportunity will be required to develop a concept proposal.
