This week, 14 Musqueam members tested positive for COVID-19.
Musqueam’s leadership and health department worked hard to support the individuals who tested positive, and contacted all individuals who came into contact with positive cases.
Yesterday, Chief Wayne Sparrow released a video statement on Musqueam’s Facebook page and Vimeo page. Watch the video below.
Stay protected from COVID-19
Even double vaccinated people can contract and spread COVID-19.
Vaccines can create enough immunity to prevent serious illness, hospitalization or death.
The only way to stop spreading COVID-19 is to follow public health guidelines:
🖐 wash your hands regularly
😷 wear a mask indoors in public spaces
↔ keep your distance
🌳 gather outside
🤒 stay home if you are sick
✈ only travel if essential
💉 get vaccinated, if you can
These steps are especially important to protect community members who are unable to be vaccinated, like children under 12 years old.
TIP FOR PARENTS: Check out the dollar store for children’s masks
