Musqueam Emergency Measures and Management Bylaw

May 8, 2020

On April 14, 2020, Chief and Council took the critical step of adopting the Musqueam Indian Band Emergency Measures and Management Bylaw.

Through this bylaw, Musqueam is taking active measures to safeguard the health of residents on the Musqueam Reserve and lands to prevent the spreading of contagious and infectious diseases.  Further, this Bylaw acts as a foundation for Chief and Council to develop measures to prevent, prepare for, respond to and implement recovery steps in regard to an emergencies, disasters or hazards.

You can view the bylaw in our online index of bylaws.

In alignment with this bylaw, Musqueam’s Emergency Response Team continues to work closely with administrative departments, other professionals and external partners to inform our response to the current COVID-19 pandemic.  Collectively, we are upholding Musqueam’s sniw̓ (teachings) to take care of each other, to come together, and hold one another up during challenging times.
