Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) offices are closed due to COVID-19, and federal government staff are working remotely.
If you need to register a newborn during this time, please contact MIB Membership Department directly by emailing Jocelyn Campbell-Axson ([email protected]) or call MIB reception (604-263-3261) and request to speak to the Membership Department.
Do not send your application directly to ISC until they reopen to staff and the public. Documents sent to ISC after February 2020 will not be returned until ISC offices reopens.
Also, a reminder that if your status card expired during the pandemic, you can still use it until ISC offices reopen.
Health coverage for children
The First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) expanded their health coverage for children in 2019. Children are now covered under their registered parent(s) until they reach 18 months old, which is up from 12 months. For more information, please visit FNHA’s website.
Children under the age of 19 who are eligible for registration can submit requests for health benefits through Jordan’s Principle by contacting 1-855-JP-Child (1-855-572-4453).
Any questions, contact MIB membership via email ([email protected]) or call MIB reception (604-263-3261) and request to speak to the Membership Department.
