What is an audit?
Please be aware, this meeting is NOT the budget presentation.
It is the meeting where our auditors, MNP, present the consolidated financial statements for the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2022 and ending March 31, 2023.
But what is an audit? Here is how Investopedia describes it:
“An audit is the review or inspection of a company or individual’s [financial] accounts by an independent body. Auditors may be hired internally by the company or work for an external third-party firm. Almost all companies receive a yearly audit of their financial statements. This includes the review of statements like the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.”

In 2022, Musqueam passed our own Financial Administration Law.
Under this law, Musqueam is required to undergo an annual audit by an independent third-party auditor firm.
