Every year on September 30, we wear orange to commemorate the residential school experience that has impacted generations of Indigenous people in Canada.
Starting in 2021, the day was designated a federal statutory holiday called the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
This year, Musqueam is hosting two events: one community-only event that will honour our loved ones who attended residential school, followed by a public event to announce the new name for Trutch Street in Kitsilano.
