Like many First Nations, one of the ways Musqueam works towards self-governance is through economic development that leads to economic sustainability. We have always been innovators who used resources throughout our territory to sustain our people. Today, through partnerships with businesses, governments and neighbouring First Nations, we have established Musqueam as business leaders in the region.

Musqueam Capital Corporation (MCC)
Musqueam Capital Corporation (MCC) was created in 2012 to replace the Musqueam Economic Development Department within administration. MCC is a business company (or the “economic development arm” of Musqueam) that is responsible for managing Musqueam Indian Band’s business activities. This includes the development of Musqueam’s lands, acting as an asset manager for existing real estate holding and creating economic opportunities through business partnerships.
MCC’s mission is to build a sustainable community in Musqueam through successful economic development that delivers value today and for generations to come. MCC has a board of directors that reports to Musqueam Council, and MCC’s chief executive officer reports to the board.
