Invitation to Musqueam Visual Artists and Musicians
November 13, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Open door, open house at Musqueam Cultural Centre
Wednesday, November 13, 2019 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
4000 Musqueam Ave
the purpose of this open house is two-fold: to seek the participation of the Musqueam artists and musicians in an upcoming exhibition in Fall 2020 and to broaden UBC Belkin Art Gallery’s knowledge of the creative work already underway in the Musqueam community.
We welcome artists and musicians, from emerging to senior, to join us for an evening of introductions and exchange.
- This open house is intended as an informal place of conversation.
- Join the Belkin’s Assoc Director Lorna Brown, Curator of the Outdoor Art Collection Barbara Cole, and the School of Music’s Director Pat Carrabre for one-on-one conversations about your work and interests.
- Also on hand will information about our past and future exhibitions, including Soundings an upcoming travelling exhibition (Fall 2020) which asks the question, how can a score be a call and tool for decolonization? Curated by Candice Hopkins (Tlingit) and Dylan Robinson (Sto:lo) the exhibition will feature newly commissioned visual scores and sounds by Indigenous artists who attempt to answer this question.
