Musqueam Land Code Committee – Request for Expression of Interest

The Musqueam Land Code Committee of Council invites a letter of expression of interest from any band member interested to be considered for an appointment to serve on the Musqueam Land Code Committee.

Musqueam Council is the deciding body as to who will be selected for the committee that is comprised of a total of seven members.

There are four people required to be appointed:

• Two Members at Large
• One Youth Representative
• One Elder Representative

The committee are core to supporting Musqueam Lands by their committee duties to review: draft laws; lands applications; development applications, consideration and recommendations to council and are supported by MLGO staff and legal advisors, Murray Browne, Legal Land Code Consultant and Melissa Louie, Musqueam General Counsel.

Musqueam Land Code implementation requires a dedicated committee to ensure the land code pre-conditions comply, and to develop the laws, processes and applications to build our capacity for Musqueam to govern ourselves and our lands.

Deadline: November 30, 2021
