Make your own emergency kit!

August 24, 2022 - August 26, 2022

Make Your Own Emergency Kit

3 DAYS!
Wed. August 24 to Fri. August 26
1 – 8pm
Community Centre Classroom

Why have an emergency kit?

During an emergency, you could lose important services, such as electricity, water, phones, and transportation. You might need to stay in place or leave your home suddenly.

An emergency kit – filled with food, water, clothing, medicine, money, and other supplies – is an important part of being prepared for the unexpected. You will need enough supplies to help you, your household, and your pets to cope without services for 72 hours or more.

Musqueam has funding to make on-reserve households their own emergency kit.

Over the next couple of weeks, the Emergency Program Staff will help families put together Emergency Kits.

Please come down to the community centre classrooms between 1pm and 8pm from Wednesday August 24 to Friday August 26.

Grant Mayers and Jim McDonald will help build you a kit that best suits your family’s needs. At the same time, we will talk about the importance of making a plan that will help protect you and your family in the event of an emergency or disaster.
