MST Development and Canada Lands joint ventures newsletter
MST Development and the Canada Lands Company (CLC) are excited to release our spring 2023 newsletter focusing on the ʔəy̓alməxʷ/Iy̓álmexw (Jericho Land) development project.
This past October, five engagement sessions for MST community members were held. We asked for your input about the planning and design of the future ʔəy̓alməxʷ neighbourhood.
Read the newsletter for an overview of what we heard and how we are incorporating your input.

About the Jericho Lands planning process
The Jericho Lands planning program is a comprehensive planning process which will create a policy statement to guide future development of the 90-acre site.
The program is being developed at the request of the landowners, a joint venture partnership between the MST Development Corporation and Canada Lands Company (CLC).
The planning program will explore priorities including:
- Ways to advance our collective work toward reconciliation
- Creating a complete community with a range of housing options with different income levels and tenures
- Providing new housing within a walking distance of existing and future transit routes, including a potential SkyTrain extension to UBC
- Providing shops, services, childcare, and employment space to support the new community and the rest of the city
- Recognizing and celebrating cultural and heritage assets
- Creating new parks and open spaces, and a package of other community amenities
Phase 3.5 (where we are now)
Between March 6 and March 26, there is a new phase in the planning process (Phase 3.5). The intention is to provide a project update and share the outcomes of the MST member engagement sessions.
Next steps
We’re working towards Phase 4 of engagement where we’ll be sharing a refined site concept and other information in June 2023.

About MST Development and Canada Lands joint ventures
Musqueam Indian Band, Squamish Nation, and Tsleil-Waututh Nation established MST Development to oversee properties owned by the three nations and celebrate our cultural and family connections. Our ancestors shared these lands for generations and we honour that legacy by working together for the future of our communities. MST Development currently oversees six properties totaling 160 acres of prime developable lands throughout Metro Vancouver, valued at over $1 billion.
In 2014, MST Development and CLC entered into a historic joint venture with the purchase of two significant land parcels in the City of Vancouver: the Heather Street Lands and the Jericho Lands. Together, MST and CLC are planning the redevelopment of these lands to create new opportunities for our members and the city.
