Musqueam’s financial statements

photo of a budget, notebook and paperclips in a wooden bowlThe federal First Nations Financial Transparency Act requires 581 First Nations in Canada, defined as an Indian band under the Indian Act, make their audited consolidated financial statements and a Schedule of Remuneration and Expenses of chief and council available to their members as well as publish it on a website. In compliance with the Act, INAC is also required to publish these documents on the department’s website.

Information Sessions: Musqueam Financials

Thursday, January 21  &  February 4  |  5:30 pm  |  ONLINE

Prior to the community meeting, Musqueam Finance hosts two information sessions to go over the audited financials and accompanying presentation with members. This is a more casual information-sharing opportunity where members can ask questions throughout the presentation. Musqueam Finance will take feedback and incorporate it into the final community meeting presentation.

The presentations will be the same at both sessions, and the Zoom registration link is the same for both sessions.

Session #1 – Thursday, January 21
Session #2 – Thursday February 4
Time: 5:30 – 6:30

Online community meetings only

emojis with masksTo ensure Musqueam follows public health and safety guidelines, this year’s meetings are online only. Last summer, Musqueam held our first ever online community meetings, and since then we have successfully hosted numerous community engagements on Zoom. We are excited to be hosting more online meetings this year, and plan to continue offering online options after COVID is over, so members can feel informed about what’s happening at Musqueam from anywhere in the world.

Learn about Zoom

There are two Zoom platforms Musqueam uses:

Zoom Meeting: all participants can use their mic and camera and see who else is on the call. This is the more collaborative and casual Zoom platform that Musqueam uses for our day-to-day meetings. The two information sessions will be hosted on Zoom meeting.

Zoom Webinar: only some participants can use their mic and camera or view who else is on the call. This is a one-way platform, with the presenters controlling what participants can see and hear. The Q&A feature within webinar makes it easy for participants to ask questions and ‘upvote’ questions they want answered. The band/community meeting will be hosted on Zoom Webinar.
