MST Development and the Canada Lands Co. are excited to share updates on two joint development projects.
It’s been some time since our last update, but we have been busy behind the scenes working towards major project milestones for both the Heather Lands and ʔəy̓alməxʷ/Iy̓álmexw (Jericho Lands) developments.
Heather Lands
The Heather Lands project had a busy and successful 2024! The MST Partnership and Canada Lands Company (CLC) have been working hard with partners to advance this project. We are proud to share updates about recent and upcoming work happening on this exciting project, which you may see in the media over the coming months.

What’s in the update:
- About the Heather Lands
- Who is involved?
- Project success so far
- New project name: x̌eẃs/Xawś/The New Village
- Upcoming milestones
Some of this information has been shared already with MST Nations’ community members, especially pages 1 and 2, but is included as reminders of the history of this project.
Hardcopies of the Heather Lands update will be delivered to Musqueam Reserve households around February 7 and be available in the band office lobby.
Jericho Lands
Since the unanimous approval of the ʔəy̓alməxʷ/Iy̓álmexw/Jericho Lands Policy Statement by Vancouver City Council in January 2024, we have been working to develop an Official Development Plan.
The Official Development Plan takes the key elements of the Policy Statement and provides more details around permitted floor areas, land uses, housing tenures, public amenities, and development phasing. It is an important step towards rezoning and the start of construction.
The draft Official Development Plan will be posted on the City of Vancouver’s Jericho Lands website in early February if you would like to read it.
We anticipate that Vancouver City Council will consider the Official Development Plan for approval at a public hearing in April 2025.
