In accordance with the First Nations Elections Act, Musqueam Indian Band held an election on Friday, November 29, 2024 to elect one (1) chief and ten (10) councillors for the next term of office beginning December 1, 2024 and ending November 30, 2028.
We had a great turn out!
Thank you to everyone who voted in this year’s election.
In total, there were 610 ballots cast for each race – that is over 100 more ballots cast than in Musqueam’s 2020 election.
Ballot counting began after the poll closed at 8pm on November 29 and went into the early hours of the morning. On Saturday, November 30, ballots for councillor were recounted beginning at 11am due to three candidates being within five votes for the final council seat.
By early afternoon, November 30, the final results were posted on the band office doors. Click below links to see PDFs of the final notices.
