Members Meeting: 2021/22 Budget

Musqueam Indian Band members are invited to an online meeting on Thursday, April 29 to review and approve the annual operating budget for the 2021/22 fiscal year. There will be two online information sessions for membership to review the budget presentation with Musqueam Finance before the members meeting. More information and registration details will be announced soon.

Council committee applications due!

Council and administration are seeking 15 band members to sit on one of the five Musqueam Council Committees for a one-year term. Each committee is required to have three Musqueam members. To apply to sit on a committee, complete the application form and submit by Wednesday, May 12, 2021.

Who will be immunized: Elders on reserve, medically vulnerable members, members who have NOT had their first vaccine dose, including youth aged 12-15

MOA: The Work We Do Documentary and Q&A

Join MOA curator Karen Duffek and Musqueam guest curator Jordan Wilson to discuss the ideas behind In a Different Light: Reflecting on Northwest Coast Art. Watch a short documentary that gives a behind-the-scenes look at recent changes made to the gallery. The screening will be followed by a Q&A.

Indigenous Day 2021 Drive-Thru Celebration!

On June 21, Musqueam families are invited to drive by the band office between 11am and 3pm to celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day with Musqueam. Members are also welcome to bicycle or walk through the celebration. There will be swag bags, salmon lunch, beat the bucket (similar to a dunk tank) and more!

Musqueam Graduation Ceremony 2021

Graduates and their family bubbles are invited to drive, walk or bike to the cultural centre to celebrate the class of 2021! Students will receive a graduation gift and meal from Musqueam. See next page for a route map. Please remember to follow COVID-19 guidelines.

Musqueam Pride Parade & Picnic 2021

Musqueam is hosting a picnic to celebrate pride in a COVID-safe way this year! Come down to the cultural centre on Saturday, July 31 starting at 12:30 to celebrate Musqueam's 2SLGBTQIA+ community!!

Musqueam Energy Conserves

This event is a great way to learn how to reduce your energy and heating costs. Open to all ages, there will be a lot of great resources to take advantage of, food, and a lot of prizes to give away. There will also be an informative presentation for children from 1 – 2 PM.

Musqueam Canoe Races 2021

Musqueam is hosting canoe races on August 14 & 15. Community is encouraged to walk or ride a bike to the water, which will help save parking for visitors. Only boats associated with the canoe races will be allowed on the water (no spectator boats).
